Concerned Dog Owner

In July we boarded our dog for five days in a single kennel we paid extra for with additional play time and a wash at the end of it. On arrival I submitted his favourite dog bedding mat to go on top of the supplied trampoline bed. He is an eight year old dog and like all older persons and dogs, needs a little extra padding. The staff were hesitant to take this mat because it would get dirty, I explained that it was OK and would happily take it back dirty as long as my dog was comfortable. Reluctantly the staff agreed and eventually noted it on the paperwork and took the mat. Picking my beloved dog up five days later I note that his mat did not have a single dirt mark on it. The mat had been returned to me exactly as I gave it to them. Seems like they just took the mat of me simply to pacify me with no intention of using it at all. Great feeling, nothing like being deceived for a service that you are paying for! Thinking that all was over with and having a bad experience behind me, about three days my dog starts showing signs that something is not right, this quickly develops into a choking asthma type of sound. Hearing this sound from my dog left me feeling very concerned and upset. A trip to the vet and the first question asked of me is if the dog had been boarded. WOW - yes to my surprise, REALLY! Diagnosis - KENNEL COUGH. Two injections PLUS a week of antibiotics and a nice vet bill for a dog that has never had this illness before, (was) perfectly healthy and immunised. Great job Hanrob, I'll be back when I need a death sentence for my dog.
