Mr Paul Strauss worked initially as a consultant at Johannesburg Hospital. In 1999, he was appointed Lead Clincian for Breast Cancer and Colorectal Consultant at Darent Valley Hospital in the U.K. Mr Strauss was involved in the setup and provision of minimally invasive abdominal surgery. He set up and ran a pelvic floor clinic. In 2010 he moved to CGHS. Mr Strauss is happy to see, treat and operate as required on: Benign and malignant breast disease (sentinel node biopsy and basic reconstruction.) Upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery Cholecystectomy, Appendicectomy, Inguinal/femoral and Incisional hernias, Diagnostic laparoscopy and Lymph node biopsies Colorectal resections, including prolapse surgery Endocrine surgery- thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal Pelvic floor disturbance- incontinence, obstructed defecation and perineal prolapse.
