Do not use Caxton Audio of Brisbane I am a music and sound enthusiast and have been looking for a pair of high end speakers for a two channel system. Last Saturday I made the mistake of calling Caxton Audio in Brisbane. My aim was to find out what they have on their floor for testing and listening. I also wanted to get some advice on speakers recommended to me by other music enthusiasts. The phone was answered by a man I assume was a senior sales representative. I stated my purpose i.e. “I would like to buy a pair of speakers” and that “I have so far listened to Martin Logan Vantage”, and if “they have anything in this category”. The Salesman responded very abruptly that he does not know anything about Vantage. To this I responded that Vantage is about so many dollars does he have anything in the price range. He literally ranted rather quickly some names, which I could not follow. So in response I mentioned that I have also been recommended Thiel speakers. He quickly interrupted me and rudely asked what type of electronics I have. I told him what amplifier I had which again he didn’t let me finish by stating that my amplifier was “Crap” and that I am not his kind of customer and hung up on me. Needless to say I was upset. I was an unsuspecting customer looking for some expert advice, and I was treated badly. I went to their homepage and sent them an e-mail stating what had happened hoping that at least the manager would drop a line of apology. I received no response. My purpose by writing this letter is to warn other potential customers that this shop is not interested in providing genuine service or advice. If you want to buy what they have without any questions they may assist otherwise they are rude and hostile. There are better shops in Brisbane Australia that are more worth supporting.
