In 1995 late Mr Hanneef Badrudeen (CPA) founded Serendib Pty Ltd., trading as Serendib Financial Services. In Australia, this was the first remittance company formed with the purpose of sending money back to loved ones in Sri Lanka. The business grew to be one of the leading remittance providers across Australia. After the passing of late Mr Hanneef Badrudeen (CPA) in 2012, the company was taken over by Dammika Wijesekera (CPA) since 2013, trading as Serendib Financial Services. Dammika is a CPA qualified Accountant, registered Tax Agent and is the compliance officer of Serendib Financial Services.
