Bruny Island Premium Wines, located in the island settlement of Lunawanna, is Australia’s southernmost vineyard. Owned and operated by Bernice Dillon, a direct descendant of one of the island’s earliest settlers, the vineyard has a rich history. Bernice and her father planted the first block of vines in 1998, making it the island’s first vineyard. Their wines have earned over 50 medals in national and international competitions. Visitors can enjoy hand-crafted wines and cider, all produced on-site, along with meals at the vineyard’s restaurant, which is open daily for lunch and offers dinner on Saturday nights. The restaurant specializes in locally sourced produce, prepared by a father-son team who are both classically trained and globally experienced chefs. The menu changes seasonally to highlight the best of the island’s offerings. A visit to Australia’s southernmost winery is highly recommended as part of any Bruny Island experience. Bookings are encouraged for dining.
