Description
The Greyhound Adoption Program Tasmania (GAP Tasmania) is a program established by Tasracing with the objective of giving permanent homes to these loveable dogs when they have retired from racing. GAP Tasmania is operated by Tasracing as a not for profit activity. Tasracing employs a GAP Tasmania Coordinator Susan Gittus, to oversee the day to day running of the program. Susan has a life-long association with greyhounds and is passionate about their welfare. Susan is assisted by a number of equally passionate and dedicated staff and volunteers. Every greyhound that enters the GAP Tasmania program is temperament tested, de-sexed, flea and worm treated, C5 vaccinated, micro-chipped, and has their teeth cleaned and nails trimmed. They then spend up to six with our volunteer foster carers who help prepare our dogs for life outside racing.
