Fully qualified via the Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr OMahoney is also a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). As a specialist in Adult and Paediatric Plastic Surgery, Dr OMahoney’s interest in Breast Reconstruction, Skin Cancer Surgery, Body Contouring, Facial Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Breast Surgery continues to build her reputation as a highly-sought after surgeon. After completion of her Bachelor Of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery studies through the University of Queensland in 1998, Dr OMahoney continued to further her interests in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery thereafter. With strong interests in paediatric head and face deformity as a Craniofacial Surgeon, Dr OMahoney has worked abroad with international charities such as Operation Smile, where this expertise extended to reconstruction of congenital deformities in cleft lip and palate. Dr OMahoney has gone on to countries such as Cambodia and Vietnam in order to demonstrate this interest in volunteering surgical skills in countries with limited facilities, giving her invaluable experience in the field. As a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland Medical School, Dr OMahoney’s work and studies continue to be shared from an active role in the medical community.
