Here at the Sydney Gut Clinic (SGC), our team comprises highly trained, skilled, and experienced gastrointestinal specialists, whose expertise covers all aspects of gut health. Headed by interventional gastroenterologist and hepatologist, Dr Suhirdan Vivekanandarajah, the team boasts many years of clinical work and research experience. Our practitioners are carefully selected for their respective areas of interest. Each specialist has completed additional training to be an expert in his or her chosen field. This, of course, is in addition to being skilled in general gastroenterology. All of this knowledge and experience allows our practitioners to understand symptoms, signs, biopsies, and other information that lead to diagnosis and treatment. Many of our specialists also perform procedures such as bowel cancer screening and colonoscopies, which improves the patient experience as a whole. At SGC, we are driven by excellence in care, with patients sitting at the center of all that we do. We are located in the state-of-the-art, purpose-built Alexandria Specialist Day Hospital in Sydney. Patients are welcome to come to us directly if they are experiencing any gastroenterological issues. If they are covered by Medicare, however, they will need a referral from their GP in order to be eligible for a rebate.
